Please remember the following items when you come to class:

5.    Loose leaf paper

Rules to Remember:

1.     Be prepared when you come to class.

2.    Raise your hand to speak or get out of your seat.

3.    Remain in your seat when the teacher is out of the room.

4.    Attend only to the lesson.

5.    Treat everyone with respect.

 

6th Grade Literature

During the 4th quarter, 6th grade will read nonfiction, drama, and poetry.  Some of the stories we will read are “Zlata’s Diary”, “Water”, and “The Phantom Tollbooth”.  We will also study types of poetry as techniques used when writing poetry. 

 

6th Grade English

6th grade will finish the year studying prepositions, conjunctions, subject/verb agreement, capitalization, and punctuation. 

7th Grade Literature

The 7th graders will read nonfiction, humorous essays, drama, and oral traditions during the 4th quarter.  Some of the stories that will be read are “What Makes a Rembrandt a Rembrandt”, Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”, and “Icarus and Daedalus”. 

 

7th Grade English

To finish up the school year, 7th grade will study adverbs, prepositions, and compound and complex sentences.  We will also review punctuation and capitalization.

 

8th Grade Literature

At the beginning of the 4th quarter, 8th grade will be finishing The Outsiders.  Once we have completed this book, we will study poetry.  We will finish the quarter by reading the play “The Diary of Anne Frank”.

 

 

8th Grade English

8th grade will be finishing the final three chapters of the English book during the 4th quarter.  We will study verbals, capitalization, and punctuation.

Spelling: Remember to review your spelling words and definitions.

 

6th Grade Book-It:

The final month to do Book It is March!  Thanks to all the 6th graders who participated this year!
