Rules to Remember:

1. Be prepared when you come to class.

2. Raise your hand to speak or get out of your seat.

3. Remain in your seat when the teacher is out of the room.

4. Attend only to the lesson.

5. Treat everyone with respect.

6^th Grade Literature

During the 4^th quarter, 6^th grade will read nonfiction, drama, and poetry. Some of the stories we will read are “Zlata’s Diary”, “Water”, and “The Phantom Tollbooth”. We will also study types of poetry as techniques used when writing poetry.

6^th Grade English

6^th grade will finish the year studying prepositions, conjunctions, subject/verb agreement, capitalization, and punctuation.

7^th Grade Literature

The 7^th graders will read nonfiction, humorous essays, drama, and oral traditions during the 4^th quarter. Some of the stories that will be read are “What Makes a Rembrandt a Rembrandt”, Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”, and “Icarus and Daedalus”.

7^th Grade English

To finish up the school year, 7^th grade will study adverbs, prepositions, and compound and complex sentences. We will also review punctuation and capitalization.

8^th Grade Literature

At the beginning of the 4^th quarter, 8^th grade will be finishing The Outsiders. Once we have completed this book, we will study poetry. We will finish the quarter by reading the play “The Diary of Anne Frank”.

8^th Grade English

8^th grade will be finishing the final three chapters of the English book during the 4^th quarter. We will study verbals, capitalization, and punctuation.

6^th Grade Book-It:

The final month to do Book It is March! Thanks to all the 6^th graders who participated this year!
