4th Quarter:

Sixth Grade Math:

In the fourth quarter, students will study the geometry of polygons, integers and the coordinate plane.  The students will also be doing a math project which will involve designing a tessellation pattern and transferring it into a picture.

 

Sixth Grade Science: 

The students will be exploring a unit on physical science.  This will include chapters on matter, building blocks of matter, forces and motion, machines, changing energy forms, thermal and light energy, the earth, sun and moon, the universe and Impacts of Technology.   Students will also be working on their final science projects which will be on display during Science Day in May.

 

Seventh Grade Math: 

In the fourth quarter, seventh grade will be doing an advanced chapter on integers and learning about the patterns of algebraic equations and graphs.  The students will be given a fictitious $500.00 to start up a checking account.  We will be figuring debits, credits and balancing our checkbooks along with writing checks and filling out deposit slips.

 

Seventh Grade Science

In seventh grade Life Science, the students will be studying a unit on human biology and health.  This will include chapters on bones, muscles and skin, food and digestion, circulation, respiration and excretion, fighting disease, the nervous system and the endocrine system. Students will also be working on their final science project which will be on display during Science Day in May.

 

Eighth Grade Algebra:  

In Algebra, the students will be studying rational expressions and equations and graphing inequalities.    They will also cover material on relations, functions and quadratic equations. 

 

Eighth Grade Science: 

In Physical Science, students will be exploring a unit of motion, forces and energy and power, electrical charges and current and electronics.  We will also cover units on electricity and magnetism.  Students will be working on their final science project which will be on display during Science Day in May.
